Helpful Hints

Before Massage

Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, pain killers and any substance that would alter your awareness.

If possible take a warm bath or shower to help loosen up the muscles.

During the Massage

Breath.  Breath some more.

Relax and let the therapist do the work.

For deeper work the therapist may ask you to contract then relax the muscle(s) being worked on.

Provide feedback when necessary.  If the pressure is to light or to painful let the therapist know immediately.  There is no need to suffer through the massage. The therapist will check in from time to time and ask about pressure.

After the Massage

It is important to drink extra water during the following 24 - 48 hours after a treatment. Toxins have been released from the tissues and need to be flushed out of your body.  Due to the release of toxins you may feel like you have the flu or headache.  This is a normal response to the toxin release and water will help alleviate symptoms.

Sickness

If you are sick, please cancel your appointment.  Your therapist would rather cancel and rebook you when you are feeling better.  If your therapist gets sick, she has to cancel all of her appointments until she is well.  Also she does not want to pass your cold or flu on to her next client after she sees you.  Thank you for your understanding.
